Defence, geopolitics and funding

The event opens with the presentation of the report “Geopolitical changes in the defence sector and its financial needs”, written by Carlos Martí Sempere. A panel discussion will then explore how to fund a sector that is once again at the centre of the European agenda.

The panel brings together Ángel Escribano, partner at EM&E Group; Carlos Treviño, financial analyst at Banco Santander; and retired Army General Félix Sanz Roldán. It will be moderated by Lorenzo Cooklin, Director General of Fundación Mutua Madrileña.

Finally, Felipe Carrasco, Regional Secretary for Industry, Trade and Consumer Affairs of the Generalitat Valenciana, will close the institutional part of the day.

Lorenzo Silva presents “Con nadie”

At 11:30, the writer Lorenzo Silva will present Con nadie (Ediciones Destino, 2026). It is a novel about the life of General Miguel Campins, a soldier who lived through the wars in Morocco, the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and the Second Republic.

He will be joined by Alejandro Noguera, director of Fundación Libertas 7 and of Museo L’Iber. Afterwards, at 13:30, the author will sign copies of the novel.
