Reading and Film Club: Agatha Christie in Valencia

On 20 May at 7:30 pm, the L’Iber Museum in Valencia hosts an activity that brings together literature and film around one of the great masters of mystery: Agatha Christie.

In short: a joint reading club and film session devoted to Agatha Christie’s «And Then There Were None» and its film adaptation, within the Valencia Negra festival — the book and the film are watched at home beforehand, and the session is devoted to analysis and discussion.

This session is linked to the Valencia Negra festival, and proposes a participatory format designed to enjoy and analyse in depth the same story through two different languages.

This time, the club will focus on Diez negritos — published in English as And Then There Were None — one of the author’s most iconic works, together with its film adaptation, released under the same English title.

⚠️ Important: the film will not be screened during the session. As with the reading of the book, participants are asked to watch it beforehand on their own, so that the gathering can be devoted to joint analysis and discussion.

🔍 How will the session work?

  • Commentary and analysis of the book And Then There Were None
  • Discussion of the film adaptation of the same title (watched beforehand)
  • Comparison between the literary work and its film adaptation
  • Exchange of views in a participatory atmosphere
