La musica di strada è un fenomeno artistico e culturale molto antico, dove giullari e comici di strada crearono forme musicali come il pasacalle. Già a Pompei esistevano mosaici che testimoniavano la sua esistenza, tanto è antica!
Oggi possiamo ancora trovare per le strade uno o più artisti, con o senza strumenti musicali, che offrono uno spettacolo spontaneo e gratuito, facendo appello alla generosità del pubblico.
A seconda della città possono esserci norme comunali che limitano gli orari o il numero di postazioni, ma esistono anche luoghi molto permissivi per questo tipo di musica, dove questi musicisti vengono valorizzati e accolti. New Orleans, Dublino e Valencia sono alcuni di questi esempi.
È importante ricordare che molti artisti hanno iniziato la loro carriera come musicisti di strada, quindi non dobbiamo dimenticare che può essere un trampolino di lancio verso il successo! Questa esposizione è un modo per rendere omaggio a questi artisti in miniatura.

La música de carrer és un fenomen artístic i cultural més antics, on joglars i còmics de la llengua van crear formes musicals com la cercavila. Ja existien a Pompeia mosaics que ens parlaven de la seua existència, així d’antiga és!
En l’actualitat, encara podem trobar als carrers a un o diversos intèrprets, amb o sense instruments musicals, mostrant un espectacle espontani i gratuït, apel·lant a la generositat del públic.
Depenent de la ciutat pot haver-hi normes municipals que limiten els horaris o el nombre de places, però també hi ha llocs molt permissius per a aquest tipus de música, on es valora i acull a aquests músics. Nova Orleans, Dublín i Sant Petersburg són alguns d’aquests exemples.
És important recordar que molts artistes van començar les seues carreres com a músics de carrer, així que no hem d’oblidar que pot ser un trampolí per a l’èxit! És una manera d’homenatjar aquests artistes en miniatura.
Street music
Street music is an older artistic and cultural phenomenon, where minstrels and comedians of the language created musical forms such as the passacaglia. There were already mosaics in Pompeii that told us of its existence, that’s how old it is!
Nowadays, we can still find in the streets one or several performers, with or without musical instruments, showing a spontaneous and free show, appealing to the generosity of the public.
Depending on the city there may be municipal rules limiting the hours or the number of seats, but there are also places very permissive for this type of music, where these musicians are valued and welcomed. New Orleans, Dublin and St. Petersburg are some of these examples.
It is important to remember that many artists started their careers as street musicians, so we should not forget that it can be a springboard to success! It’s a way to pay tribute to these miniature artists.
