Let’s talk about Pop music and how it originated! This musical genre was born in the 1950s as a softer alternative to rock and roll, but with a greater attention to recording and professional composition.

The year 1963 was very important for Pop music because the Beatles released their first album and appeared on television with an image and style of clothing that would influence an entire generation. This group revolutionised music and laid the foundations of Pop.

The musical style of Pop is a mixture of black music and rock, fused with the new American Pop music.

Shortly after, in 1965, another important musical group in the Pop world was The Rolling Stones. They were a bit tougher than the Beatles and their lyrics were more provocative and outrageous. Their music was characterised by the originality of their harmonies and the search for new rhythms. Later, they evolved to a more elaborate style and took more care of the details, even using classical instruments such as strings or woodwinds.
