Discover Caesar’s Hispania: the steps that forged the man who would change Rome and the ancient world, long before crossing the Rubicon.
On Tuesday, March 3, at 7:30 pm, L’Iber, Museo de los soldaditos de plomo (Valencia) will host the presentation of the book Tras las huellas de César en Hispania (In the Footsteps of Caesar in Hispania), by writer Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri.
The work proposes a compelling journey through Roman Hispania following the footsteps of Gaius Julius Caesar, a decisive and often overlooked facet of his political and military career. From his arrival in Corduba in 69 BC as quaestor to his final years as dictator, Caesar lived through some of the episodes in Hispanic lands that would shape not only his own destiny, but that of Rome and the ancient world.
Through the traces of his passage through Hispania still visible today, Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri invites us to rediscover the Caesar who was forged far from Gaul, in a narrative that combines historical rigor, popular appeal, and a love for shared heritage.
The author will be joined at the table by Antonio Penadés and Alejandro Noguera, director of L’Iber, Museo de los soldaditos de plomo, in an event open to the public and aimed at readers, history lovers, and enthusiasts of the Roman world.
