The L’Iber Museum will host a new session of its Film Club on 23 September at 7:30 pm, this time dedicated to Rear Window (1954), one of the most celebrated works by Alfred Hitchcock and an essential classic of film history.
Starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly, the film begins with a seemingly ordinary situation: a photographer, confined to his apartment after an accident, watches his neighbours’ lives unfold from his window. What starts as a distraction gradually turns into an unsettling suspicion. From this premise, Hitchcock builds a masterclass in suspense and a reflection on gazing, privacy, and the boundary between curiosity and observation.
The session will follow the usual format of the museum’s Film Club: the film should be watched beforehand at home, and the in-person session will be devoted to commentary, analysis, and shared discussion of the work. The gathering, hosted by Javier Sancho and Carlos Climent, will offer a space for dialogue on the film’s main narrative, visual, and thematic aspects, as well as its significance in the history of cinema.
The session will take place in the L’Iber Museum conference room and is conceived as an invitation to revisit a great film classic through a shared experience of reflection, conversation, and cultural enjoyment.
